The Ijaw traditional ruler who was abducted in Delta state has been released following a gun battle between men of the Joint (Military) Task Force (JTF) Operation Pulo Shied and the kidnappers in Kokori community in Ethiope East local government area of the state.
The JTF Tuesday in a statement confirmed that they engaged suspected kidnappers in a shootout and successfully rescued the abducted paramount ruler of Oporomor Kingdom, King Augustine Ebikeme.
He was kidnapped at Kokori town in Delta State on November 16, 2014.
The JTF statement was however silent on any casualty figure.
